Hearth & Forge - Shawl Pins

These silver plated copper shawl pin (with a hammered texture) are designed and produced by one of Jimmy Beans' very own!
The heart is 3.25" across at its widest point and comes with a 4" - 4.5" stick. The circle pin has a 1.5" diameter and comes with a 3.75" stick pin
"Penannular" basically means in the shape of a ring, but with a break or gap at one point. This is an ancient and clever design for a brooch pin, often attributed to the Celts, although it saw widespread use throughout the bronze and dark ages. The pin is attached to the ring, so there is no risk of losing the most important piece - it's essentially an ancient safety pin. All our brooches are made of thick copper wire, which is then plated with fine silver (99.9% pure). These are each made by hand, so exact weights and dimensions will vary from piece to piece. We have made three different, simple designs, and would love to hear feedback about what you think! |
