Gorgeous colors!! Taos isn't in yarn shops yet around here, so I got a pile of this lovely blue from Jimmy Bean for a sweater for hubby and jumped right in. The first thing I learned was that I needed to switch to an Addi Turbo needle, because the yarn isn't very tightly spun, and my birch needles were splitting the fibers. No problem really: I love the smooth Turbo needles.
The yarn feels wonderful in your hands, and the colors are luscious. It knits at exactly 4 stitches to the inch, making it easy to figure out the pattern specifications.
Unfortunately, despite being from one dye lot, there is a difference in the clarity of colors between different skeins. It won't bother anybody but me, but I wish I had begun with 2 skeins, mixing it up every few rows. That becomes inconvenient when knitting the left and right front at the same time - I can't manage 4 balls of yarn at once - one glass of wine with my knitting, and it's all over! Mostly, the difference is pretty subtle, my husband won't notice, but the bottom of his back is a bit muddier than the top. His fronts are starting with pretty even clarity, but I won't be surprised if he gets muddier shoulders or a sleeve that isn't as clear. Again, it's subtle, but I see it, and after all, that's who I'm really knitting for!
All in all, I will use it again, I think. The stuff feels great, with a pile of other colors to explore, and I'm a sucker for yarns that stripe. Especially if they knit up at a lightening quick 4 st/in!
