Materials
- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Bulky or any other Bulky Weight Yarn; Approx 125 yds.
- 16 in. circular needle size 10.5, double point needles size 10.5, or size required to get gauge.

- Fits a man or womans head around 20 inches
|
Gauge
- Using the 16 circ needle, in stockinet stitch, 15 sts. to 4 inches.

Abbreviations
- k - knit
- K2tog. - knit 2 sts. together as 1
- p - purl
- rep. - repeat the directions between the *.
- st. - stitch

Directions
- With the circular needle, cast on 70 sts.
- Join, being careful not to twist
- * K1, P1 * repeat to end of row.
- Work previous row for 3 more rows.
- K every round until hat measures 5.5 inches from cast on edge.
Start the Decreases
- *K 2 k 2 tog* repeat to end of row.
- Knit 5 rows
- *K 2 k 2 tog* repeat to end of row.
- Knit 3 rows.
- *K 1, k 2 tog* repeat to end of row.
- Knit 2 rows.
- *K 2 tog* repeat to end of row.
- Break yarn, and using a darning needle, gather remaining stitches. Weave in end of yarn.
