Official yarn, knitting and crochet supplier to U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing!
Jimmy Beans Wool and Red Heart® Yarns are the official yarn, knitting and crochet suppliers to the U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing!
We are combining several of Jimmy's biggest passions--skiing, knitting, and crocheting--into one, and supporting the ski community that helped to build Jimmy Beans Wool
in the early years of the business. When Jimmy Beans Wool first opened in 2002 in the ski town of Truckee, CA, some of our biggest customers were the skiers and snowboarders
visiting and working at nearby resorts. Now, over 10 years later, this is our way of saying thank you to those who helped support and grow our business!
We have partnered with Red Heart® Yarns to create Stitch Mountain, a campaign to encourage skiers and snowboarders (and their friends and family) all over the world to take
up knitting and crocheting when they aren't on the mountain. We seek to provide simple and easy projects for all skill levels that can be used on and off the slopes. If you are
new to kitting or crocheting, be sure to check out our How to Knit and How to Crochet brochures (downloadable PDF's) to learn the basics!
As part of the Stitch Mountain Campaign, we also sponsor 7-time X-Game Snowboarder Cross Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist, Lindsey Jacobellis.
Along with being a world class snowboarder, Lindsey is a knitter and budding knitwear designer. She has a design in the book Knit Red
and her own line of patterns to benefit her charity, Hats4Hounds. Check out her Snowboarder Hat Kit and watch for more patterns to come!
A portion of proceeds from the sale of these kits will benefit the ASPCA and support its mission to prevent cruelty to animals throughout the U.S. by rescuing them from abuse, passing humane laws and sharing resources with shelters nationwide.
We hope you enjoy all of the fun patterns that Stitch Mountain has to provide no matter what your favorite outdoor winter activity may be and hope you'll join us in supporting
team USA in all of the U.S. Freesking and U.S. Snowboarding events in years to come!
Also, stay tuned for our next book project, Stitch Mountain, which which is due out in 2014 just in time for the winter Olympics in Sochi!
We got to sit down with seven time X-Games Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Lindsey Jacobellis, who is our sponsored
