August's Lorna's Laces Limited Edition Color is here! Named for Washington DC, Capital City is a nostalgic tribute to one of my favorite childhood memories. Growing up I would watch Washington Redskins football games on TV (or at the Fox and the Hound Bar) with my father in DC where he lived. The deep maroon, gold, orange and light peachy pink of this month's color brought me back to the excitement of the first game of the season and time spent with my dad. Using "flawless" children's logic, I would tell my elementary school classmates that my dad played for the Redskins -which of course made perfect sense as he was a giant of a man and also happened to play rugby. (Ok, he was actually pretty skinny in retrospect, but he seemed like a giant at the time!)
There are so many reasons to love this color whether you're a diehard Redskins fan, look forward to the beginning of football season each year with overenthusiastic anticipation, are a fan of the Capital City itself, or just like rich, harvest-time color combinations! These full and understated tones are perfect for the coming fall season and would make for a gorgeous shawl, nifty pair of socks or a casual cardigan!

And the winners are....Peppermint Mocha and Blueberry Snowcone!!
You asked for it -- these are the colors from the Limited Edition line that we'll be bringing in for keeps (whew - that was a close (and cold!) race between the Snowcone and Icestorm...but the blueberry prevailed - perhaps because it's a better partner with peppermints?).
And as you know, the color we selected Twilight
is already up on the website. The other 2 colors will be on the site August 15th, so be sure to mark your calendars.

There are so many of spectacular possible projects held within their many pages I don't have enough room to gush
about them, but since a picture is worth a thousand words I encourage you to peruse them on the Classic Elite
website. It is definitely worth a peek if you're experiencing knitter's/crocheter's-block or just looking for your next project!

Magnolia is a DK weight merino wool and silk blend whose semi-solid colors and delicate sheen give it a liquid-like
