Shepherd Sock Shepherd Worsted
Shepherd Sport Helens Lace
Robin's Eggs
(available in Shepherd Sock, Shepherd Sport, Shepherd Worsted, Lion and Lamb, and just a teeny bit of Helen's Lace.)

Robin's Eggs? Don't ask where that name came from, because I honestly don't know... Maybe from the deep, deep desire to hear little birds chirping outside my window? Or maybe I'm just thinking of Easter candy - and remembering the Robin Eggs Malted Milk Candy. Yum! Those were some of my favorites - and still are! Of course, i'd always try and eat the hard coating off of the candy and then suck on the malted milk center until I rotted out the inside of my cheeks. Yep - now that i'm looking online at photos of that candy, i realize that those candies inspired the name of this month's Limited Edition color! Hot pink, a lovely blue, a great green, and grey.... this is honestly one of my favorite Limited Edition colors ever. It's just ... different. Doug even commented on how much he liked it! I sure hope you enjoy it as much as we do.... and that you think of malted milk balls when you knit with it. I sure will!

      April Stimulus Ideas
Jimmy Beans Wool Newsletters

I cannot believe it's April! Where did the time go? And if it's April, why was it snowing at my house last night? Didn't the weatherman realize that it's supposed to be spring?! Oh well... it's good thing we have the great deals below to get us through the last bit of winter... if you see something you like, make sure to stock up - before Sandy, Jeanne and Victoria buy up everything (they looked like crazed dingos when the boxes arrived a few days ago - you should have seen the look in their eyes - it was definitely scary)! Out of all the sale yarns that we've had, i have to admit that this might be my favorite crop...my 2 favorites are the Kureyon Sock and the Pure Silk Dk. Decisions, decisions!

p.s. sigh. i am sooo over reading about the economy and the various "stimulus" packages... i don't know what made me include that word in the header above, but i did. sometimes i just do things w/o understanding why. I guess this is a good example. LOL.

Clara's Garden
Clara's Garden
Ooops! Before I get into the sale yarns, i thought i should mention the new Lorna's Laces Color Commentary color released just last week: Clara's Garden. Available in the same 5 yarns as Robin's Eggs, this color was created in honor of Clara Parkes, editor of KnittersReview.com. With pale pink, natural, and just the slightest touch of yellow, it's perfect for Spring!
Kureyon Sock
Kureyon Sock
Save 30% on Kureyon Sock! That's right, we just got in a shipment of Noro Kureyon Sock and it's all 30% off... Normally $19 per hand-dyed hank, it's now $13.30. And each hank contains 462 yards - enough for a pair of socks (or you could follow sandy and her friend barbara and get a few balls for a lace shawl. Here are a few pattern ideas.). P.S. Don't forget about our Live Chat program... if you'd like to make a shawl, but aren't sure how many balls you should buy, we can help!
Pure Silk DK
Pure Silk DK
Ok, this is one of those yarns that simply leaves me speechless. Absolutely speechless. And i'm not the only one - all of us in the store were simply in awe when the boxes were opened to reveal a rainbow of colors in pure, shiny, silky, lustrous Silk. I honestly can't even describe how gorgeous and breathtaking the Pure Silk Dk is (i'm sure Hemingway could have done a fine job, but as you all know, i'm not much of a writer - sorry!). At $7.50 a ball (and 50% off), each hank has a generous 137 yards and knits up perfectly on a US 5. I'm not exactly sure what color i'm going to get for myself - or what i'll even do with it - but i do know that i can't resist. :)
Cotton Dk
Cotton Dk
92 yards of machine washable luxury cotton for $3.25 a ball? Yep, you read it right! We don't have a ton left of the Debbie Bliss Cotton Dk, so grab it while you can. Similar to Rowan Handknit Cotton, the debbie bliss cotton dk is perfect for washcloths, blankets, baby sweaters, summer garments and more.
Yuzen
Yuzen
Truth be told, I had never heard of Noro Yuzen before a few weeks ago. But when i was given the opportunity to stock a Noro Yarn and extend the discount to all of you, I just couldn't resist. I mean seriously, would it be possible for me to NOT like a yarn from Noro?? After receiving the shipment, the answer is a definite "no." At $7 a ball (and 30% off), the Yuzen has 121 yards and knits up nicely on a US 6. It's wool, silk, and a touch of mohair... and is dyed in the famous Noro colors that we've all grown to love. We have a number of Noro Yuzen project ideas on our site (look at the left hand side of the page). Noro yarns rarely go on sale, so i'd suggest using your Jimmy Beans Bucks and scooping up 1-2 balls for your stash (or your next hat/scarf project - at least that's what i'm going to do)!
Cathay
Cathay
Save 50% on our remaining stock of Debbie Bliss Cathay: a lightweight blend of cotton, viscose, and silk (ooh...silk! Sandy LOVES this yarn because of the silk - in fact, she was literally drooling when we opened the boxes on Wednesday). Cathay is also a dk weight yarn (110 yards on a US 5) that knits (or crochets) up perfectly for summer.
Esprit
Esprit
And finally... don't forget that GGH Esprit is still only $2 per ball. This yarn has to be one of the softest that i've ever touched... and used to be the most popular yarn in the shop. Well, all good things must come to an end i guess... GGH has discontinued the Esprit and we're selling the last of it for only 200 pennies per ball (that's under-the-couch money)!
Jimmy Beans Bucks One last thing to mention before you start shopping... the first round of Jimmy Beans Bucks have been issued! We had a few small computer issues, so weren't able to create the rewards until the afternoon of the 1st (as opposed to the morning), but they are now in your accounts and ready to be used. If you earned a reward, you should have also received an email with your reward amount and free shipping coupon code. If you didn't earn a reward or aren't familiar with this incredible FREE YARN program take a look now! In a nutshell, if you have a JBW account and made purchases last quarter (Jan 1st - March 31st), you received an account credit equal to 5% of those purchases (with a few rules, of course). We were able to give out a TON of rewards on Wednesday - and hope that all of you use them - you earned them!! :)
